Mas (short for "masquerade") is a key part of Carnival in the Caribbean, where people dress in elaborate, colorful costumes and join the parade. It’s all about self-expression, creativity, and celebrating the vibrant culture of the Caribbean through music, dance, and spectacle.

J'ouvert is the early morning part of Carnival, usually starting before dawn. It’s a street party where revelers cover themselves in paint, mud, or powder, and dance to the beats of soca and calypso music. It’s a raw, energetic celebration, full of excitement and a sense of freedom, marking the official start of the Carnival festivities.
