What should I do if the airline loses my luggage?

In the unlikely event that your luggage is lost by the airline, the first step is to file a claim directly with the airline. They will usually offer a small amount of compensation to help cover basic necessities while they locate your bag. Afterward, we recommend getting in touch with your travel insurer to file a claim for lost luggage reimbursement, provided you have this coverage in your policy. Be sure to keep the airline’s report handy, as it will be required for the claims process.
Please note that airlines do not deliver recovered luggage to you. You will need to personally pick it up from the airport. If you're already away from the airport, perhaps a few days into your tour, you can either arrange your own transport to collect it or wait until it's more convenient for you.
Your Tour Leader can assist in organising logistics for this, but any costs associated with retrieving your luggage will be your responsibility. Unfortunately, we cannot offer compensation for any missed tour time due to luggage delays; however, you may be able to claim compensation through your travel insurance provider when you submit your lost luggage claim.
To avoid potential disruptions, we highly recommend packing essential items and a change of clothes in your carry-on luggage just in case.
