How does your rooming work?

Will I share a room?
All our adventure prices are based on sharing a twin room as we feel this only enhances your experience. You can find out more about sharing a room with a fellow Soca Islander here.
If you'd like to upgrade to a single room, you can add this during the booking process or find out prices before booking by emailing the sales team.
How are roommates selected?
We will send you an onboarding form about eight weeks before your adventure starts, which includes a questionnaire about your habits and preferences. We then use these answers to match you up with a compatible roommate of the same gender.
Can I have my own room?
Most adventures have a limited number of single rooms available for an extra charge.
If you decided you would like a single room we recommend adding this to your booking as soon as possible, since we only have a limited amount of guaranteed single rooms set aside for each departure. Once those rooms have been allocated, we will have to request additional single rooms and there is no guarantees we can secure this.
What if I don't like my roommate?
We try our best to match Soca Islanders based on the rooming questions provided, but the person you are sharing with may not always be an ideal match for you. In situations like this, we suggest having a confidential conversation with your Group Leader to see what the options may be. They may also suggest having a conversation with both parties involved to see if an amicable resolution can be reached without making anyone involved feel uncomfortable. These conversations aren’t easy, and each situation will be unique to the people experiencing it, but we do encourage opening up an honest dialogue so things like this can be resolved and moved on from before escalation occurs.
Will we have separate beds?
Not unless you are a couple who have specifically requested a shared bed together prior to the tour departure. Otherwise we will always provide two separate beds in each room.
